Really, this blog could be titled so many different ways, “the dark day when we wore bell bottoms and the sun came out once with kids who really did not want a camera around…” or “that cold day we decided to have hot chocolate, ketchupy hot dogs and build hay forts…” or better yet “a few really fun hours in the dark and cold that lead to a rotating sickness in the family for a month…
Instead, I decided upon a letter format:
Dear Ruthy, and the wonderful Nooks team,
As the snow falls, I return to the blog and make do on my promise to show you what my kiddos look like in your wonderful creations. I ask for forgiveness ahead of time if your beautiful designs were not meant for as much dirt as we have put them through 😉
Honestly, I did try the photoshoot angle with the kids. (Haha, bad pun.) I also tried the coordinating colours and cool shirts. They would have none of it that day. However like usual, if it involves mud, paint, wet hay, dry hay, snow, puddles, and their own choices…plus maybe hot chocolate and a bubble bath, they had no problem with the fun factor.
As always, thank you for the flare you bring to our lives, even or perhaps especially on the colder, gloomy days. You may not know it but I have been mentally zen-zap you a thank you every day for the last 5 1/2 years when I put on your adult-sized nooks moccasins even in the air-con to keep my feet happy and warm 🙂 <3
